Scatta l’ora dei Mondiali, Murakami: “Fondamentali concentrazione e voglia di vincere”

Udine, 23 agosto 2015. Astana è pronta per il primo campionato del mondo di judo ospitato dal Kazakistan. Nell’Alau Ice Palace si dà dunque inizio alle danze cui partecipano 729 protagonisti, 432 nelle sette categorie maschili, 297 in altrettante femminili. Centoventi le nazioni provenienti da cinque continenti, ma soltanto dieci hanno iscritto diciotto atleti, numero massimo ammesso con nove maschi e nove donne. Le grandi potenze sono sempre le stesse, Russia, Giappone, Sud Corea, Francia, Germania, Brasile, Cina, Mongolia, Olanda ed il Kazakistan, padrone di casa. L’Italia, mai ai mondiali con la squadra completa, schiera nove atleti, Valentina Moscatt (48), Odette Giuffrida (52), Giulia Quintavalle (57), Edwige Gwend (63), Assunta Galeone (78), Elio Verde (66), Antonio Ciano (81), Walter Facente (90), Domenico Di Guida (100) e, dopo una vigilia piuttosto movimentata saranno seguiti dal DTN Kyoshi Murakami e dagli allenatori Dario Romano e Francesco Bruyere, che ha rimpiazzato Pino Maddaloni. “Il sorteggio in linea generale non appare proibitivo – ha detto il neo DTN Kyoshi Murakami – ma ovviamente è fondamentale che l’approccio di ogni incontro avvenga con la massima concentrazione e con la determinazione vincente. Ci sono tutti i più forti campioni in gara, quindi per arrivare ad una medaglia è necessario batterli tutti in ogni caso. Gli atleti sono tranquilli e concentrati, ma è solo sul tatami che dovranno saper dare il meglio di sè”. La prima azzurra in gara è Valentina Moscatt che nei 48 kg affronta la portoghese Leandra Freitas, mentre martedì Odette Giuffrida se la vedrà al primo turno dei 52 kg con Kelly Edwards e nei 66 kg Elio Verde affronterà il turco Sinan Sandal. Giulia Quintavalle gareggia mercoledì nei 57 kg e la sfida è con l’ungherese Hedvig Karakas, quindi giovedì con 81 e 63 kg, Antonio Ciano attende il vincitore fra Mititelu (Rou) e Ben Ammar (Tun), mentre Edwige Gwend inizia con la messicana Jazmin Toral. Venerdì altri due azzurri in gara con Walter Facente nei 90 kg a vedersela con il cinese Cheng Xunzhao ed Assunta Galeone nei 78 kg con Natalie Powell (Gbr), mentre Domenico Di Guida gareggia sabato nei 100 kg partendo con il bulgaro Daniel Dichev.
