What, when and where? #JudoFestival2019

The EJU Judo Festival 2019 is always buzzing with excitement with the sheer amount of activities, sometimes it is hard to keep up!

We are currently half way through the OTC camp, with many federations leaving tomorrow after some solid training on the tatami during the morning and evening sessions with some extra work outs on the beautiful beaches. It is the final week before the European Games in Minsk starts so many athletes are entering their final phase of preparation.

Needless to say we will continue to have more arrivals for the camp as there is still another five days to go.

The Kids U8 Family Camp changed things up a bit today, taking the opportunity to soak up the sun and run around the resort carrying out various activities but we will see them back in the training facility tomorrow for some more fun and games.

The 6th European Judo Science and Research Symposium and the 5th Scientific and Professional Conference – ‘Applicable Research in Judo’ concluded this morning following a three day programme including three key note speakers and 16 researchers presenting their findings. A final discussion was held today, headed by Patrick ROUX, with ideas to combine the research with the physical aspect of the camp next year in order to apply the research to the athletes and coaches.

The impressive Kodokan Seminar will continue tomorrow, the final two sessions before the anticipated examination on Sunday. Attendants of the camp have been spoilt with two Kodokan instructors MUKAI Mikihiro and NAGAI Taeko, travelling from Japan to train and assess for four full days, a chance many are envious of missing out on. EJU Expert, KATANISHI Hiroshi was also at hand, offering his golden advice.

An exciting addition to the camp tomorrow is the Improve Your Club Seminar which will see many coaches come together to learn ways in which they can deliver better sessions to children aged 8-12 years old.

With such an abundance of activity going on daily, we will keep you updated with the exciting goings on of the 6th EJU Judo Festival here in Poreč.
